When editing term details, it is not possible to remove parent category. When you save such changes, an error is displayed.
Workaround: Use Information Governance Catalog classic to remove parent category.

N/A

When you create terms or categories, and search for them, they are not listed in the search results. This occurs when you use Db2 as a database. When the database connection is lost, or the database is restarted, the connections used by gov-catalog-search-index deployment are not automatically recycled.
Workaround: Restart the gov-catalog-search-index Kubernetes deployment. complete these steps:
1. Connect (ssh) to Enterprise Search host as root or any user permitted (sudo) to run the commands mentioned in steps 2 and 3.
2. Stop any active gov-catalog-search-index pods by running kubectl scale --replicas=0 deployment gov-catalog-search-index. Wait for all active pods to be terminated. You can check their status by using kubectl get po | grep index.
3. Start gov-catalog-search-index by running kubectl scale --replicas=0 deployment gov-catalog-search-index.
N/A
After installing InfoSphere Information Server, you can't find any data classes in the catalog by using search in Catalog > Assets.
Workaround: Synchronize data classes manually and run reindex.
When you try to access data sets in Information Analyzer thin client or in Information Governance Catalog New, an SQL exception error occurs. This happens only when SQL Server is used as metadata repository. N/A
You can't enable workflow. It might happen when the same database table is imported twice. The WebSphere log files contain information about 'Duplicate import identity rids'.
Workaround: Complete these steps:
1. Enable the flag enableTolerateDuplicateIdentity by running the following command:
./iisAdmin.sh -s -key com.ibm.iis.gov.vr.setting.enableTolerateDuplicateIdentity -value true

0879181
When terms and database tables are deleted in Information Governance Catalog, they're not deleted in Watson Knowledge Catalog. N/A
When you load a local file into a catalog, the file size shown in the asset properties might not be accurate. N/A
When you download a data asset from a catalog or project with the Safari web browser, the lineage event is not recorded. N/A
When you upload one or more files with a total size of more than 1 GB, the load might fail due to a time out.  Try again. N/A
If the web address for Watson Knowledge Catalog contains an IP address, you might get a redirect failure when you choose the Manage > Users menu option. If so, edit the URL to remove all text after "/console/". N/A
User names with uppercase letters can't log in to Watson Knowledge Center. An InfoSphere Information Server administrator must update user names to contain only lowercase letters. N/A
If you modify the class code of a data class that is referenced in a data protection policy, the policy might not be enforced until you must rerun the profile of each data asset that is associated with the data class. N/A
When data assets are shared from Information Governance Catalog, data assets are profiled and automatically assigned built-in data classes. Custom data classes from Information Governance Catalog, however, are not assigned during profiling. You must manually assign custom data classes to data assets in Watson Knowledge Catalog before data protection policies that include custom data classes are effective. N/A
If lineage information doesn't appear, you might need to restart the lineage pod with this command:
kubectl delete pod <pod_name> -n <namespace>
N/A
Sometimes the assets listed in the Highly Rated list in a catalog are not correctly sorted by rating. N/A
If you create a data protection policy that uses the redact method of anonymizing data, the affected data sets are reordered so that the column values are not shown under the appropriate column headings. Use the substitute or mask method of anonymization instead. N/A
For JDBC connections that are shared from Information Governance Server, only one JDBC connection for each type of database, such as Db2 or Oracle, is functional. If you have multiple JDBC connections for a database type, they are all associated with the same database name.
For native connections to database servers, multiple connections to the same database type work, however, you must edit each connection to provide the correct host name.
N/A
When you create a rule, the Rule types list contains some values that are not valid. Only the Access type is valid. N/A
On the Assets page in a project, you might see Data Refinery flows that you didn't create. These internal-created flows should not be shown. N/A
The profiling of data assets that are shared from Information Governance Catalog might fail with this error:
"Internal error occurred: Arithmetic error: Rounding necessary".
N/A
You must be connected to the internet and be able to access ibm.com when you create new connections. Adding connected data through the connection does not require internet connectivity. N/A
You can’t include multibyte characters in these areas of Watson Knowledge Catalog:
The names or descriptions of data policies, rules, or categories.
The names, business definitions, or descriptions of business glossary terms.
Some fields allow multibyte characters but do not display them correctly.
N/A
When you add collaborators to the catalog, enter email addresses with all lowercase letters. Mixed-case email addresses are not supported. N/A
You might get an error when attempting to create a connection to Watson Analytics. N/A
You cannot create data assets from Object Storage OpenStack Swift connections.
When you look at an Cloud Object Storage (S3 API) or Cloudant connection, the folder itself is listed as a child asset.
N/A
An error might be encountered when multiple users are running connection operations concurrently. The error message can vary. N/A
You cannot enable the enforcement of data protection policies after you create a catalog. To apply data protection policies to the assets in a catalog, you must enable enforcement during catalog creation. N/A
The following restrictions apply to data assets in a catalog with data policies enforced: File-based data assets that have a header can’t have duplicate column names, a period (.), or single quotation mark (‘) in a column name.
If evaluation fails, the asset is blocked to all users except the asset owner. All other users see an error message that the data asset cannot be viewed because evaluation failed and the asset is blocked.
N/A
If you use Data Refinery, you might encounter these known issues and restrictions when you refine data. N/A
Be sure that CSV files are correctly formatted and conform to the following rules:
Files can’t have some rows ending with null values and some columns containing values enclosed in double quotation marks.
Two consecutive commas in a row indicate an empty column.
If a row ends with a comma, an additional column is created.
N/A
Be sure that column names conform to the following rules:
They are unique within the data set
They don’t contain any periods
They are not reserved words for R
N/A
When creating a connection to IBM Db2 Warehouse on Cloud (previously named IBM dashDB), system-level schemas aren’t filtered out. N/A
The following limitation applies to saving Data Refinery flow output (target data sets) to connections:
Data Refinery flows that have a target on a Compose for MySQL connected data asset are not supported.
N/A
The following limitations apply if you save Data Refinery flow output (the target data set) to a file:
You can’t preview the file from the Data Refinery flow details page
Do not change the file format if the file is an existing data asset
N/A
If your data includes columns that contain white space (blank) characters, Data Refinery considers those white space characters as part of the data, even though you can’t see them in the grid. Be aware that some database tools might pad character strings with white space characters to make all the data in a column the same length and this change will affect the results of Data Refinery operations that compare data. N/A
When you use the “Replace missing values” operation, the replaced values only show in the columns after you save and run the Data Refinery flow. View the Data Refinery flow output to see the replaced values. N/A
After deploying IBM InfoSphere Information Server Enterprise Edition with Docker containers, the Governance capabilities in Watson Knowledge Catalog which operate on assets synchronized from Information Governance Catalog do not work. For example:
  • Policy authoring will not be fully functional (i.e. policies with left hand side values of “Business Term” and “Data Class” cannot be defined).
  • Term assignment will not work.
  • The Business Glossary page will show “There are no published terms”.
N/A
When Deploying IBM InfoSphere Information Server Enterprise Edition with Docker containers, you must leave the namespace variable in the iis_response_info.json response file set to “default”. Changing this value will result in parts of the system being non-functional.
N/A
Synchronization of certain types of numeric metadata between Information Governance Catalog and Watson Knowledge Catalog may not synchronize all attributes. This affects columns which have a non-zero scale parameter, such as columns with the data type “DECIMAL”. In these cases, the column is synchronized, but the "scale" field is unset. This causes attempts to profile tables that contain columns like this to fail. N/A
