Flashes (Alerts)

Abstract

Maximo Anywhere uses Google Cloud Message(GCM) for Push Notifications. Google has recently announced the end of life of GCM as of April 11, 2019.  After this date, Maximo Anywhere Push Notifications on Android Devices will no longer operate using GCM.

Content

Google has announced that Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) has replaced GCM and most GCM services will be shut off April 11, 2019.  Therefore, if you are utilizing Push Notifications you must apply fix updates to both Maximo Anywhere and Mobile First in order to use Firebase services for push notifications.
