IBM Support Account Setup Instructions for New Clients

IBM Support Community – IBM Fix Central – IBM Passport Advantage

 
 

Create IBM ID

To set up your IBM ID, which will also be your account in the IBM Support Community, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to IBM Support Community and click on the person icon à Sign In à Create an IBM ID.  

 

Access to IBM Support Community (used to open Support Cases)

  1. Go to IBM Support Community
  2. Click person icon at top-right and select “Support Access” (note you will need your IBM Customer Number or ICN).
    1. Video for requesting access to your company's IBM Support account.
    2. After requesting access, your client administrator or site technical contact will need to approve it (see step 3).

Access to IBM Fix Central (used for downloading patches and fixes)

  1. Access SR at http://www.ibm.com/support/servicerequest/.
  2. Enter your IBM login ID and password.
  3. Click on "New Service Request" button.
  4. Select "I am having a problem with software" from the list of options.
  5. Click the link for "Software registration."
  6. Enter your IBM customer number (ICN), select the country, and click Submit.
  7. Site Technical Contact or Site Admin will receive an email asking for approval of the request.
  8. Navigate to IBM Fix Central.

 

Access to IBM Passport Advantage (used for downloading software)

  1. Navigate to IBM Passport Advantage (for downloading software).
  2. Click the "Customer sign in" button above.
  3. Enter your IBM ID & PW, and click continue.
  4. You'll be asked to complete a 'Self-nomination' form.  
  5. Enter your Site number and a Business justification explaining why you need access. For example, I need to purchase software, renew S&S, download software, generate reports, or view proof of entitlements.
  6. If you do not know your Site number, reach out to your Sales organization for a copy of a recent Proof-of-Entitlement (PoE), invoice or sales order. All of these documents should include your PAO Site #.
  7. Your request for Passport Advantage Online [PAO] access will be forwarded to your Site's 'Primary Contact' for approval. You will be notified when your access request has been approved.
