Abstract

This document provides the instructions for upgrading existing installations of IBM Robotic Process Automation (IBM RPA) with Automation Anywhere 11.0.0.4 or 11.0.0.4 interim fix 001 to 11.0.0.4 interim fix 002.

Before you begin

  1. Ensure you have IBM RPA 11.0.0.4 installed. For information about downloading and installing 11.0.0.4, see Upgrading from IBM Robotic Process Automation with Automation Anywhere 11.0.0.x to 11.0.0.4.
  2. Follow the steps in the pre-upgrade checklist in the Automation Anywhere documentation.

Downloading the interim fix

The interim fix is available for download from IBM Support Fix Central. The fix contains separate upgrade packages for IBM RPA Control Room and IBM RPA clients.

Upgrading IBM RPA 11.0.0.4.x to IBM RPA 11.0.0.4 interim fix 002

During the upgrade process, the interim fix is installed on top of IBM RPA 11.0.0.4.x. There are separate procedures for upgrading IBM RPA Control Room and the IBM RPA clients. Upgrade Control Room before you upgrade the clients.

Upgrading Control Room

  1. Extract the upgrade package files.
  2. In the directory that contains the extracted upgrade package, right-click upgradeControlRoom.bat, and select Run as administrator.
  3. Read and accept the license terms for the update. You see a confirmation message when the upgrade process starts.
  4. For a custom installation, you are prompted to enter the configuration data for your existing IBM RPA V11 installation.
    Tip: The upgrade procedure displays your current settings in a new browser window.

Upgrading IBM RPA clients

  1. Extract the upgrade package files.
  2. In the directory that contains the extracted upgrade package, right-click rpaclient-11.0.0.4.ifix002.exe, and select Run as administrator.
    The Installation wizard guides you through the installation of the interim fix.

Post-upgrade tasks

Verify that the interim fix was installed correctly on the Control Room and your Bot Creator and Bot Runner clients by following the post upgrade checklist in the Automation Anywhere documentation.
