2. What's new in this release
=====================================================================

Upload log functionality

You can now upload logs to your device so that you can diagnose device-level issues.

Go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Logging and select the Upload log option. A dialog opens that indicates the device location for the logs.

 When the logs have been uploaded on to your device, you can download them from your device to a computer.

=====================================================================
3. Pre-installation considerations
=====================================================================

Before proceeding, make a complete backup of the following folders. Default folder locations are provided below.

Maximo Admin Workstation: /IBM/SMP
Maximo Anywhere Build Server: /IBM/Anywhere

Also, make a complete backup of the Maximo database instance.

Check and record any custom WebSphere Application Server configurations, such as module bindings, virtual hosts, and environment property settings.

When you start the installation program, the program backs up the existing Maximo Anywhere 7.6.3 files. The backup files for Maximo Anywhere are placed in MaximoAnywhere_b4_7.6.3.1.

From Fix Central, apply the latest interim fix for the Maximo Integration Framework component.

Decompress the Maximo Anywhere 7.6.3.1 file that you have obtained from Fix Central.

4. Installation instructions
=====================================================================

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update the required components on a IBM Maximo Asset Management environment
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A set of required components must be installed to extend the enterprise system for IBM Maximo Anywhere.
The IBM Maximo Anywhere package includes OSLC object structures and licenses that enable a set of applications in IBM Maximo Asset Management.

You can use the IBM Maximo Anywhere 7.6.3.1 launchpad program to install the required components where IBM Maximo Asset Management is installed.

1. On the computer where Tivoli's process automation engine is installed, start the launchpad.

On Windows:
Double-click the launchpad.exe file. If your computer is a 64-bit system, use the launchpad64.exe file.

On Linux:
Double-click the launchpad.sh file or run ./launchpad.sh from the command line.

2. From the IBM Maximo Anywhere 7.6.3.1 launchpad menu, click Update Required Components.

3. On the Update Packages panel, select the package group name for Maximo Asset Management, for example "IBM Tivoli's process automation suite" and click Next.

4. Accept the license agreement and proceed through the installation panels until the Update button is enabled on the installation summary panel.

5. Click Update to allow the files to be updated.

6. Use the Maximo Configuration Tool to update the database and then build and deploy the ear updates.

For information about the MobileFirst Server Configuration Tool, go to the MobileFirst Knowledge Center:

URL: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSHS8R_7.1.0/com.ibm.worklight.deploy.doc/deploy/c_using_server_config_tool.html

------------------------------------------------------
Mac OS X users: Updating Maximo Anywhere on Mac OS X

=====================================================================
5. Post-installation tasks
=====================================================================
--------------------------------------------------------
WebSphere Application Server configurations
--------------------------------------------------------
Verify that any custom WebSphere Application Server configurations, such as module bindings, virtual hosts, and environment property settings are still there.
--------------------------------------------------------
Resource Description Framework (RDF) errors
--------------------------------------------------------

If you receive any RDF errors, rerun the import utility named anywhere-rdfs-puller.xml that is in the MaximoAnywhere folder. This utility includes all the shape documents that are used by the service provider in Maximo Asset Management for the Maximo Anywhere mobile apps.

The UNIX syntax for running this utility:
build/tools/ant/bin/ant -f anywhere-rdfs-puller.xml -Dadapter.connection.user=<maximoAdminUserId> -Dadapter.connection.password=<maximoAdminPswd>

The Windows syntax for running this utility:
build\tools\ant\bin\ant -f anywhere-rdfs-puller.xml -Dadapter.connection.user=<maximoAdminUserId> -Dadapter.connection.password=<maximoAdminPswd>

Example:
build/tools/ant/bin/ant -f anywhere-rdfs-puller.xml -Dadapter.connection.user=wilson -Dadapter.connection.password=wilson

--------------------------------------------------------
Custom timeouts
--------------------------------------------------------

If you had any custom timeouts in the OSLCGenericAdapter.xml file, these were overwritten by the update-platform command.
Check these two properties to ensure that they are set to the right values:
<connectionTimeoutInMilliseconds>30000</connectionTimeoutInMilliseconds>
<socketTimeoutInMilliseconds>30000</socketTimeoutInMilliseconds>

If you added new resources prior to upgrading, such as if you had a previously working lookup resource, ensure that it has a queryBase and a queryURI specified or lookup data downloads will fail.

For example, you might have to add the following queryBase to your <resource> under the <attributes> section.

<queryBases id="additionalstoreroom_queryBases">
<queryBase id="additionalstoreroom_queryBase_getlocationstoreroom" name="getlocationstoreroom" queryUri="/oslc/os/oslcopersroom"/>
</queryBases>

Also, ensure your queryUri matches the URI of your actual OSLC resource.

--------------------------------------------------------
Building and deploying apps
--------------------------------------------------------

After you install the fix pack for Maximo Anywhere, run the build clean update-platform option of the build.cmd command
of the build.xml ant script from the command line or from MobileFirst Studio to remove the old Maximo Anywhere MobileFirst libraries.

Then build and deploy each Maximo Anywhere application to apply the fix pack. You must deploy the WAR file.
You use the MobileFirst Server Configuration tool to deploy the WAR file.

For information about building and deploying apps, go to the Maximo Anywhere Knowledge Center:

URL: http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSPJLC_7.6.3/com.ibm.si.mpl.doc/build_deploy/t_ctr_build_deploy_apps.html

--------------------------------------------------------
Building apps for Windows 8.1 Tablets
--------------------------------------------------------

1. From the <mobilefirst_install_dir>/ApplicationCenter/installer directory, download
the IBMApplicationCenterWindowsStore.zip file to your Windows devices.

2. Extract the IBMApplicationCenterWindowsStore.zip file, and run IBMApplicationCenter.exe.

3. Microsoft product keys are required for sideloading apps that are not published to Windows Store. The product keys must be licensed through Microsoft and installed on the mobile device
operating system. For more information see:

URL:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/dn832613.aspx

4. Certificates are used to sign the apps. The certificates must be installed on the mobile devices as trusted certificates.
Maximo Anywhere provides default certificates. The default certificates are located in the windows8\native directory for each app. Each certificate is called MaximoAnywhere_TemporaryKey.pfx. This is a temporary certificate that must be replaced with your own certificate.

To create your own *.pfx certificate for each app:

- In Visual Studio Tools, open the app by double-clicking the *.jsproj file that is located in the windows8\native directory.
- From Solution Explorer, double-click the package.appxmanifest file, and click the Packaging tab.
- In the Choose Certificate dialog, select one of the options for including a *.pfx certificate. The certificate
is copied to the windows8\native directory for the app.
- Click Save.

Repeat this process for each Maximo Anywhere app.

5.Start the IBM MobileFirst Platform Application Center app. Connect to your MobileFirst Server, and download and install the Maximo Anywhere apps.

For more information about the Application Center, see the Knowledge Center:
