Node.js is supported by IBM i. IBM i has addressed the CVE-2018-12116, CVE-2018-12120, CVE-2018-12121, CVE-2018-12122, and CVE-2018-12123 CVEs.

CVEID: CVE-2018-12122
DESCRIPTION: Node.js is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by improper validation of HTTP headers. By sending headers very slowly keeping HTTP or HTTPS connections and associated resources alive for a long period of time, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial of service condition.

By sending specially-crafted request to port 5858, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary JavaScript on the system.

Affected Products and Versions

Releases 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 of IBM i are affected.

Remediation/Fixes

The issue can be fixed by applying a PTF to IBM i.
Releases 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 of IBM i are supported and will be fixed.

Release 7.2 and 7.3 support Node.js version 8.  Node.js version 8 is available via:

Release 7.2 and 7.3 support Node.js version 10.  Node.js version 10 is available via:

Important note: IBM recommends that all users running unsupported versions of affected products upgrade to supported and fixed version of affected products.
