Troubleshooting
Problem
When trying to use a custom SQL object in Report Authoring, the RQP-DEF-0326 User defined SQL is not permitted error is returned even though the user has the User Defined SQL capability. This even occurs for users in the System Administrators role.
Cause
A package (or other type of data source) has not yet been associated with the report.
Resolving The Problem
Associate a package (or other type of data source) to the report.
- On the Source tab, click the + icon to add report data
- Select your desired package or data module
- The custom SQL object in the report will now work
