Abstract

This document will provide additional information on the commands available for the *SMTP/*SMTPMSF e-mail directory type beginning in IBM i 7.2 OS.

Beginning at IBM i 7.2 OS, additional CL commands were added to the IBM i OS to support the *SMTP and *SMTPMSF e-mail directory types configured via CHGSMTPA.  NOTE:  These commands are only available when the DIRTYPE(*SMTP ) or DIRTYPE(*SMTPMSF) SMTP attribute is set in CHGSMTPA and the SMTP Server has been restarted.

NEW AT IBM I 7.2

  • SNDSMTPEMM (enhanced) - sends e-mails to internet addresses with enhanced attachment support
  • ADDUSRSMTP - adds a SMTP user to the new SMTP user registry
  • CHGUSRSMTP - changes a SMTP user in the new SMTP user registry
  • RMVUSRSMTP - removes a SMTP user in the new SMTP user registry
  • STRIMPSMTP - imports SMTP users from the System Distribution Directory to the new SMTP user registry
  • WRKSMTPEMM - work with and query e-mails.  KEEPUNTIL SMTP Attribute (CHGSMTPA) affects how long e-mails should be kept.
  • WRKSMTPUSR - work with SMTP users in the new SMTP user registry

  • ADDSDSTLE - add new entries to an existing SMTP distribution list
  • CHGSDSTL - change an existing entry in a SMTP distribution list
  • CRTSDSTL - create a new SMTP distribution list
  • DLTSDSTL - delete an existing SMTP distribution list
  • DSPSDSTL - display an existing SMTP distribution list
  • RMVSDSTLE - remove an existing SMTP distribution list
  • RNMSDSTL - rename an existing SMTP distribution list
  • WRKSDSTL - work with a specific or all SMTP distribution lists
