PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT This APAR provides enhancements to GDPS/MGM 4-Site procedure handler processing, including: - Reduced execution elapsed time - New SDF trace messages to report state changes that occur during procedure execution. - Messages modified to include the dynamic substitution of client region names as per the GEOGROUP MULTIPLE SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONS The PTFs for this APAR must be applied to all Kp, Kg, and Kr systems in both regions before attempting execution of any procedures. DOCUMENTATION CHANGES The following changes will be reflected in a future revision of the GDPS Message and Codes (ZG24-1756). 1. New message GEO2439I GEO2439I <procedure> PROCEDURE EXECUTION STARTED Explanation: Information only message indicating that the report procedure will now commence execution of the procedure steps. Action: None Destination: NETLOG, SDF trace entry - green 2. New message GEO2549E GEO2549E <count> PPRC RELATIONSHIPS SUSPENDED Explanation: The operator handler received a function call request from the procedure handler to monitor volumes until the EMPTYOOS criteria is met. The handler detected that one or more monitored relationships are in an unexpected suspended state and at least one relationship is reporting a non-zero OOS (Out-Of-Sync) count. The handler fails the monitor function call request. The procedure script statement terminates. Action: Review the Netlog for additional diagnostic information indicating why the monitored volumes have suspended and contact IBM support for further assistance. Destination: NETLOG 3. The following messages are updated to include the dynamic substitution of client region names as per the GEOGROUP: GEO2305E GEO2323I GEO2324E GEO2327E GEO2333E GEO2346I GEO2365I GEO2367I GEO2369E GEO2378I GEO2402E GEO2403E GEO2405I GEO2406E GEO2407I GEO2412E GEO2427I GEO2428I GEO2501I GEO2537E GEO2544E GEO2546E GEO2549E
