    * routine. When that occurs the program *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    *                                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When a PL/I program compiled with the NORENT option fetches a
    PL/I procedure compiled with the RENT option, the program will
    fail with operation exception ABEND0C1 but without providing
    additional information about the actual error.

    This APAR, along with PI44449, provides the run-time library
    changes to the enhancement of a better message in the error
    situation wherein a NORENT program fetches a PL/I program that
    is compiled with RENT option.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

  • The PL/I runtime now verify if the fetched module has followed
    the restrictions when fetched by the PL/I program compiled with
    the NORENT option. The library routine is changed to issue a new
    IBM0598S message instead of ABEND0C1 to better describing the
    actual error.
