Comments

  • This APAR changes INCRESYN SETGM and MGM_SWAP to initialize the
Incremental Resync (IR) function only on volumes that are part
    of the GDPS/GM configuration.

    MULTIPLE SYSTEM INSTALLATION REQUIRED
The PTF for this APAR must be applied to both the Kp and Kg
systems. Do not attempt to run INCRESYN SETGM or the MGM_SWAP
procedure if the PTF is installed on one system but not both.

    DOCUMENTATION CHANGES
Revisions to GDPS/MGM V3R12 Planning and Implementation Guide,
ZG24-6726: The description of DASD='INCRESYN SETGM' will be
changed to indicate that it will process only those volumes that
are part of the GDPS/GM configuration. Also, the description of
actions for the MGM_SWAP procedure will be changed to indicate
that IR is prepared on B disk only for those volumes that are
    part of the GDPS/GM configuration.

Revision to GDPS V3R12 Messages and Codes, ZG24-1756,
    to reflect new message GEO299E:
    GEO299E INCRESYN cannot retrieve GDPS/GM configuration -
    <reason>
Explanation: a DASD INCRESYN SETGM script statement has failed,
because it was not able to determine which of the PPRC pairs
have secondary devices that are also primary devices in the
      currently active GDPS/GM configuration.
    Action: Examine the <reason> value.
      - If 'No GDPS/GM configuration found', rerun the script
statement after a valid GDPS/GM configuration has been loaded.
      - If 'Unable to contact Kg system', check the GEOGROUP
definitions and TCP/IP communications between the Kp and Kg
      systems.
      - If 'Internal error' contact IBM support for assistance.
