Error description
Client requested additional checking for a special condition that can arise in MGM if PPRC relationships are manipulated outside of GDPS control. If incremental resynchronization change recording is inadvertently enabled on the PPRC secondary device, the condition can cause a HyperSwap failure.

PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT This APAR provides additional checking for HyperSwap readiness in planned HyperSwap and Monitor2 processing. If any PPRC secondary device has Incremental Resynchronization (IR) change recording active, planned HyperSwap will be aborted and Monitor2 will disable HyperSwap and unprepare all systems. PRODUCT DEPENDENCY In order for this fix to be fully effective on systems with z/OS release 1.13 or 2.1, the fix for IOS APAR OA46683 must be installed. PTFs UA76441 and UA76442 are available for the two releases, respectively. DOCUMENTATION UPDATES Revision to GDPS/PPRC Installation and Customization Guide (ZG24-6703) and GDPS/PPRC HyperSwap Manager Installation and Customization Guide (ZG24-6746): In Appendix E, 'GDPS Monitors', add the following to the list of actions performed by Monitor2: "Check that Incremental Resynchronization (IR) change recording is not enabled for any PPRC secondary device. Note that mirroring status will not be set to OK and HyperSwap will be disabled if an IR-enabled PPRC secondary is found, even if all pairs are duplex." Revision to GDPS Messages and Codes (ZG24-1756): Add the follow- ing to the <reason-text> list in the GEO551I explanation. "INCRES(YES) found on secondary disk"
