Comments
The transforms have been updated with various fixes to improve reliability and serviceability. The following changes apply to the "Infoprint Transforms to AFP for z/OS Version 2 Release 3" publication (G550-0443-05): 1. In chapter 3, "Customizing transforms", section "Customizing the PDF to AFP and PostScript to AFP transforms", subsection "Environment variables for the PDF to AFP and PostScript to AFP transforms": For AOPTRACEDIR, change the default from: Default: AOPTRACEDIR -> /var/Printsrv/trace to Default: AOPTRACEDIR -> /var/Printsrv/trace or /var/Printsrv/xfd Note: For traces written to /var/Printsrv/xfd, the trace information is appended to the end of the ps2afp.#.stderr file for each instance of the transform, which means that the trace is automatically cleaned up when you restart the Infoprint Server Transform Manager. If your trace is appended to the stderr file but you want it written to /var/Printsrv/trace, you must change the permissions of the /var/Printsrv/trace directory to: drwxrwxrwx 2. In "Chapter 5. Diagnosing errors", section "Running traces": For AOPTRACEDIR, change the Default information to read:: Defaults: SAP2AFP and PCL2AFP transforms: AOPTRACEDIR -> /var/Printsrv/trace PS2AFP and PDF2AFP transforms: AOPTRACEDIR -> /var/Printsrv/trace or /var/Printsrv/xfd Note: For PS2AFP and PDF2AFP transforms, the trace information is written to either /var/Printsrv/trace or /var/Printsrv/xfd. When the trace is written to /var/Printsrv/xfd, it is appended to the end of the ps2afp.#.stderr file for each instance of the transform, which means that the trace is automatically cleaned up when you restart the Infoprint Server Transform Manager. If your trace is appended to the stderr file but you want it written to /var/Printsrv/trace, you must change the permissions of the /var/Printsrv/trace directory to: drwxrwxrwx 3. In "Chapter 5. Diagnosing errors", section "Tracing the transforms", in the paragraph,"When you request a trace...", change this sentence to read: "When you request a trace by using either the -T option or the AOPTRACEON environment variable, the transform writes the trace in a file in the directory that is specified in the AOPTRACEDIR environment variable or to the default directory (/var/Printsrv/trace or /var/Printsrv/xfd)." In the same paragraph, change the sentence "The transform's stderr file contains the name of the trace file." to read: "The transform's stderr file contains the name of the trace file, or the trace information itself."
