APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • MQ appliance reloads after a crash on the SNMP component which
    causes all HA QMgrs in the reloaded appliance to go into
    partitioned state.
    
    Following errors are recorded in the error report.
    
    20191029T000105.524Z [0x80400084][mgmt][error] : tid(303): bad
    rc from ioctl, errno 9
    
    The decoded back trace shows the reload was caused by the SNMP
    component.

Local fix

  • Disable SNMP to avoid further crashes.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A defect in MQ appliance internal event handling caused a memory
    exception in the snmp component and this resulted in the
    appliance reload.
    

Problem conclusion

  • MQ Appliance code has been modified to prevent the crash.
