Students were introduced to Watson Studio's new tool, AutoAi, which automates the machine learning process from data preparation to the deployment of a model. The workshop involved using a dataset of purchases for an outdoor equipment store and making predictions about customer choices from demographic data such as gender, age and occupation. The instructors also dove deeper into the ML processes and estimators that AutoAi uses in the backend for the students that were interested in learning more about how AutoAi works.
The workshop concluded with a preview of different Watson Studio services that are relevant to business students that the students can take advantage of. The students were also introduced to the IBM Academic Initiative which provides them with enhanced access to the IBM Cloud and select cloud based resources and applications.
