Thank You for attending SPADE 2018

We hope you enjoyed the discussion with over 150 industry peers as we delved into many topics to Re-think Defence and Security around the globe, drive innovation in a changing landscape, and identify opportunities for your organizations.

IBM and AFCEA are pleased that you were able to attend the 16th annual SPADE conference as we discussed “Re-Thinking Defence and Security in the Digital Age”.

As the world advances and new threats emerge, defence organizations face new threats each year. Many nations entered 2018 amid a number of complex and growing threats, and although some risks are greater than others, these threats are increasing in danger as they become more and more interconnected. In the digital age, new operational methods that leverage the latest developments in technology are needed to address these challenges.

At this year's conference we discussed these challenges and opportunities including how the latest digital innovations support decisive decision making to defend against threats. Technology trends are converging to change the future of defense and security: artificial intelligence, analytics (data, video, audio, social), cloud, IOT, blockchain, cyber security, identity insight and intelligence analysis. We agreed that to remain relevant our defense operations must prioritize critical areas for investment and take advantage of the most important technologies. Otherwise, we run the risk of quickly falling behind.
