Storage and Archive Solutions
IBM Linear Tape Files System (LTFS) is the first file system that works in conjunction with LTO 5 and LTO 6 tape and brings a new level of use and portability to Open Systems tape storage. Self-describing tapes and cross-platform file system compatibility enables shared access, content management from the desktop, and tape-based archiving at ingest. The demo area will showcase new capabilities for managing LTO libraries as well as integration with business partners who are bringing the value proposition of storage to the media marketplace.

The IBM Archive and Essence Manager (AREMA) solution can help you transition into the tapeless world by reusing legacy applications for metadata management, newsroom or scheduling without the need to implement a new content management "silo" system. AREMA provides extensive and flexible interfaces that can be controlled by third party applications (e.g. Avid® Interplay and Avid Media Composer), as well as essence management services, in order to perform essence workflow orchestration including archive management for LTFS.
