Detect, Deter and Mitigate. Addressing the Challenges of Insider Threat in the Federal Government


The Obama Administration has directed that agencies "gather, integrate and centrally analyze and respond“ to insider threats. While the mission is clear, the challenge is how. The costs of insider attacks are high. A 2008 FBI survey reported that the average cost of a successful attack by a malicious insider is nearly 50 times greater than the cost of an external attack. Today, agencies and service branches face a dizzying array of data they can look to in order to prevent and detect insider threats. Attend this event to learn the various ways that federal agencies can utilize both methods and technology to meet the demands of insider threat detection, deterrence and mitigation.
