He is a former Chairman of the European Beyond Budgeting Round Table and now works as an academic and independent consultant for a range of major companies. He is a prominent public speaker, drawing on his years of experience at the leading edge of performance management thought and practice.
Senior Vice President, Research Operations
Kevin Prouty oversees all research operations at Aberdeen Group, and is responsible for creating and delivering research deliverables to educate end user organizations to action regarding their use of technology to address business challenges. Prior to this role, Kevin managed research coverage for Aberdeen’s Enterprise Applications and Product Innovation research practices, and supporting manufacturing industry research initiatives. Before joining Aberdeen he was Director for Manufacturing Solutions at Infor. He also spent over five years as Sr. Director of Manufacturing Solutions at Motorola and was the resident expert on technology’s role in Lean. Prior to Motorola, he was Research Director for Manufacturing and Automotive at AMR Research and Gartner G2, where he spent a total of six years.
Leading up to his research role, Kevin spent over 15 years as both a user and system integrator of production operations software. Twelve of those years were as a plant manager and project manager at a global manufacturer, managing a large workforce and business that produced tooling for automotive and industrial companies. He was responsible for all automation of the facility, including integration of automated process and information systems into all aspects of the business. In addition, Kevin helped lead the re-engineering team that implemented ERP and shop floor systems throughout the company. Kevin also managed the building, start up, and initial operation of a plant in China from 1992 to 1993.

Dean works closely with Sales and Solutions delivery teams to ensure that our Finance Performance Management (FPM) solutions are best aligned to address enterprise or industry-specific business issues and challenges, as expressed by the Finance Executives at our clients.
Dean is a California CPA. Prior to joining IBM, Dean worked for 12 years in Big-4 consulting firm where he led a regional Data Management Advisory group, and later a Strategic Finance Consulting Group. As a strategy consultant, he helped several Fortune 1000 Clients design and implement enterprise-wide finance transformation strategies, including new technology deployments. Dean was also a Business Unit Controller for Media and Entertainment Company, and a VP for a Real Estate Investment Management Firm.
