Overview
If you currently have Tivoli Global Enterprise Manager Version 1 installed, you can now upgrade to Tivoli Global Enterprise Manager Version 2 at no charge.
Designed for simplicity and ease of use, Tivoli Global Enterprise Manager Version 2 gives you a logical view of your network computing environment. It speeds implementation time and improves productivity by automatically discovering application components as they are installed in your environment. Views of applications and relationships are automatically updated when configurations change. In this way, your business system views are always up-to-date.
The Application Policy Manager in Tivoli Global Enterprise Manager Version 2 is the same as in Tivoli Global Enterprise Manager Version 1, with the exception of the bi-directional exchange of management data between host and distributed environments. This is now handled by the 3.6 level of the Tivoli Management Framework and the core applications.

To order an upgrade from Version 1 (5697-B83) to Version 2 (5697-GEM), specify program number 5697-GEM, feature number 9001 for asset registration, and no charge feature number 0601. Also, specify the media feature number, 5809.
New Support must be ordered for 5697-GEM. To order Support, specify 5697-SPT, feature number 9001 for asset registration and the applicable feature number from the table below. This support feature number should be ordered in a quantity equal to the number of upgrades to 5697-GEM that are ordered.
