TME 10 Information/Management Version 1 Release 1 now supports a Japanese media feature. As with the English version, the availability of this product provides:

  • Integration with TME 10 Global Enterprise Manager (TM), TME 10 Enterprise Console, and TME 10 Software Distribution

    • World Wide Web browser and Java (TM) interfaces

Overview

TME 10 (TM) Information/Management Version 1 Release 1 now offers the same program function in the Japanese media feature.

With TME 10 Information/Management Version 1 Release 1, you can implement, enforce, and automate administrative processes as well as policies in your enterprise. In order to accomplish this, TME 10 Information/Management offers you an integrated platform of tools, services, and interfaces. In addition, TME 10 Information/Management provides a centralized repository capable of storing up to 400 gigabytes of data per database on an MVS/ESA (TM) or OS/390 (TM) platform. It also integrates with many of Tivoli's TME 10 (Tivoli (R) Management Environment) software products.

Customers who require a Japanese language product to support enterprise-wide data management; and who desire to utilize a central repository to support enterprise system management for call center help desk, problem, change, and configuration management

This announcement provides information for the TME 10 Information/Management Version 1 Release 1 Japanese media feature.

For information on TME 10 Information/Management, refer to Software Announcement 297-467 dated November 11, 1997.



Year 2000

This product is Year 2000 ready. When used in accordance with its associated documentation, it is capable of correctly processing, providing, and/or receiving date data within and between the 20th and 21st centuries, provided all other products (for example, software, hardware, and firmware) used with the product properly exchange accurate date data with it.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION



Specified Operating Environment

Hardware Requirements: Hardware requirements are unaffected by this announcement with the exception of the following DBCS support.

If your installation requires DBCS support, the display station must support the entry and display of DBCS characters (for example, the 5550 or the PS/55 family of terminals).

Printing Reports with DBCS Characters: For printing reports containing DBCS characters, you need a system printer that supports the printing of such data. These printers include Advanced Function Printing (TM) (AFP (TM)) printers and standard line printers.

Software Requirements: Software requirements are unaffected by this announcement with the exception of the following DBCS support.

Displaying DBCS Characters: For correct display of DBCS characters in messages transmitted from the Notification Management or Integration Facility components of this version of Information/Management, the receiving workstation must be appropriately configured in Virtual Telecommunications Access Method (VTAM (R)). The VTAM configuration requirements are:

  • VTAM Version 4 Release 2 for MVS/ESA (TM) (5695-117) or a subsequent release
Note: In an OS/390 (TM) environment, no additional products are needed.

Current Licensees: This feature may be ordered as an MES for installed users of TME 10 (TM) Information/Management.

New Licensees: For ordering information on the base program, TME 10 Information/Management, refer to Software Announcement 297-467 dated November 11, 1997. To order the Japanese language media feature, refer to the following information on the basic machine-readable material. Orders for new licenses will be accepted now. Shipment will begin on the planned availability date. New users of TME 10 Information/Management Version 1 Release 1 should specify:
