| Ordering information |
Charges are per install with either one-year standard or one-year premium support.
To expand our coverage of Linux on pSeries(r) we are now making available on all pSeries POWER4+(tm) systems p615 (7029-6C3 and 7029-6E3), p630 (7028-6C4 and 7028-6E4), p650 (7028-6M2), p655 (7039-651), p670 (7040-671), and p690 (7040-681) the ability to order SuSE Linux Enterprise System 8 for iSeries(tm) and pSeries (SLES 8) and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 for iSeries and pSeries (RHEL 3). This expansion of our Linux coverage allows our clients to order Linux with all POWER4+ pSeries systems. Linux only orders for the p655 require that an AIX 5L system be available on the network for diagnostics and support. The expansion of ordering SLES8 and RHEL 3 with pSeries servers other than p615, p630, and p650 gives our clients the flexibility to select and order the operating systems that they require for use in mixed-mode environments.
Each license entitles the customer to run Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 on a single server image (non-LPAR mode) or a single LPAR, in the case of p630 or p650 configurations. Each LPAR running Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 requires a license. The eConfig tool has a message that multiple Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 licenses may be required for p630 and p650 configurations if the customer is planning to have multiple LPARS running Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3. The configurator allows multiple Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 licenses to be ordered. Additional configurator logic is planned to prompt the user for LPAR support when configuring a p630 or p650 Linux ready Express Configuration with Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3.
When you order a Linux ready Express Configuration, you can select either Red Hat or SuSE Linux for your operating system.
