The IBM® Geographically Dispersed Resiliency for Power Systems™ solution is designed to provide an automated, more cost-effective disaster recovery solution that facilitates very low recovery times to help reduce the impact of outages. It provides systems and data replication monitoring along with server and network management, helping to streamline the tasks needed for backup and recovery that support high availability.

The solution supports IBM AIX®, IBM i, Red Hat Enterprise Linux®, Linux SUSE, and Ubuntu operating systems. You can customize the solution to meet your specific high-availability targets without specialized IT skills. The Geographically Dispersed Resiliency for Power Systems solution can deploy:

  • Operating completely on your premises
  • Using a recovery site provided by IBM Resiliency Services™
  • Using a disaster recovery site supplied by a third-party provider

Unlike more complex disaster recovery applications, the Geographically Dispersed Resiliency for Power Systems application does not require you to cluster your configuration.

IBM Geographically Dispersed Resiliency for Power Systems Version 1 Release 2 offers significant enhancements to help you achieve your disaster recovery objectives.

  • Ability to enable vLAN and vSwitch customization across sites to allow for using different vLANs and vSwitches for site, host groups, or host per site.
  • VM restart DR management without storage mirror management to enable DR failover in a stretched-clusters or shared-storage environment.
