As part of the global partnership between IBM and Box to transform work in the cloud, IBM offers organizations Box, a content management and collaboration platform. Box enables organizations to easily share, manage, and secure their content.

Box offers the following:

  • Collaboration and document management on the cloud
  • Policy and workflows for content
  • Mobile access to content with synchronization

Through IBM, Box is offered in three plans:

  • Box Business Plus
    • Box Business Plus includes core sync and share capabilities, advanced security, customization, and reporting. It also has added capabilities to enhance collaboration with external parties and integrate with other applications.
  • Box Enterprise
    • Box Enterprise not only includes the capabilities of Box Business Plus, but also has third-party Box software as a service (SaaS) integrations, advanced content security controls, and workflow automation.
  • Box Elite
    • Box Elite has all the capabilities of Box Enterprise and powerful yet flexible content management and platform capabilities with unfettered API access, top-tier support, and an additional test environment.

Box allows organizations to work across teams, with customers, and with partners. It can be used either as a stand-alone solution or to include content in other applications through the use of APIs. With Box Platform, organizations can leverage Box's powerful content services within their own custom applications.

What is new

IBM consulting services for Box

Through IBM, organizations can purchase the following standard implementation services for Box:

  • Box Quick Start Implementation Services: Quick Start is an entry-level offering that is designed to get small businesses running successfully and quickly on Box in three to four weeks. Quick Start authorizes a member of the Box consulting team to assist the organization with the implementation of the specific subscription type purchased of the Box Service.
  • Box Smart Start Implementation Services: Smart Start is an entry-level offering designed to get small to medium sized businesses, with fewer than 500 users, successfully running on Box in six to eight weeks. Smart Start authorizes a member of the Box consulting team to assist the organization with the implementation of the specific subscription type purchased of the Box Service.

Organizations can now purchase Box Consulting Services through IBM. Box Consulting Services is designed to support organizations deploying comprehensive use cases across the enterprise. Box Consulting Services is designed to get organizations successfully running on Box in around six to twelve weeks. A customized scope of engagement from Box is often included.

Box Business

Organizations can now purchase Box Business, which is an entry level SaaS offering that includes core sync and share capabilities, advanced security, customization, and reporting. Using Box Business, users can collaborate with external users using shared links only. Other content management features, advanced security capabilities, integrations, enhanced support, and custom services are only available in Box Business Plus, Box Enterprise, or Box Elite offerings.

Case Manager on Cloud, Datacap on Cloud configuration options

In addition to Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, organizations can now select Copper as a configuration option. This new option enables organizations with lower throughput requirements to move their content off premises and into the cloud in order to take advantage of IBM's worldwide presence, data centers, and system management expertise.

Each of the standard configurations includes the capacity to support a set of users, a defined amount of storage and features of the on-premises software, all priced in a simple fixed amount per model, per month.

Case Manager on Cloud, Content Foundation on Cloud, Content Manager onDemand on Cloud, and Datacap on Cloud updates

Organizations as small as a department or as large as an entire enterprise can take advantage of the capabilities in Case Manager on Cloud, Content Foundation on Cloud, Content Manager OnDemand on Cloud, and Datacap on Cloud to deploy new and existing applications in the cloud. The simplified configurations enable deployment to internal and external users without a requirement to count, track, or pay for specific users.

Separately priced add-ons enable customization to meet your organization's data storage and performance requirements. They include:

  • Additional storage in 1 terabyte increments.
  • Dedicated Environment.
  • Non-Production Environment.
  • Report Application Output Definition (for Content Manager OnDemand on Cloud only).
  • Datacap Insight Edition (for Datacap on Cloud only).

Separately priced optional services, available through a Statement of Work, include:

  • Data migration and conversion.
  • Configuration and training.
  • Integration with other business applications.
  • Unique user-specific solution requirements.

Each of the four standard configurations (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze) includes capability to support a set of users, storage, and features of the on-premises software, all priced in a simple fixed amount per model, per month. Additionally, Case Manager on Cloud and Datacap on Cloud now include Copper configurations.

Case Manager on Cloud helps organizations achieve better business outcomes by delivering the right content at the right time in order to make the right decision. Features include web-based Case Builder to design and try out new case solutions, and Case Monitor and Case Analyzer for historical reporting. Sizing is based on concurrent users and case load per day.

Content Foundation on Cloud is an Enterprise Content Management solution that enables advanced document and imaging management, social content management, and workflow capabilities for your business documents and data. Sizing is based on concurrent users.

Content Manager OnDemand on Cloud is a digital front-office solution for superior customer service and self-service. It enables eStatement presentment for customer satisfaction and retention by including features, such as OnDemand Distribution Facility, Enhanced Retention Management, PDF Indexing, and Full Text Search. Sizing is based on data throughput per day.

Datacap on Cloud streamlines the capture, recognition, and classification of business documents, quickly and accurately extracting important information for use by business users within Case Manager or in other applications. With the optional Insight Edition, Datacap on Cloud enables cognitive capture capabilities that provide enhanced analytics, natural language processing, and machine learning like that in IBM Watson™. Sizing is based on pages processed per day.

All offerings are now available in IBM's Bridge to Cloud program.

Instance

Instance is a unit of measure by which the IBM SaaS can be obtained. An Instance is access to a specific configuration of the IBM SaaS. Sufficient entitlements must be obtained for each Instance of the IBM SaaS made available to access and use during the measurement period specified in customer's Proof of Entitlement (PoE) or Transaction Document.

Terabyte

Terabyte is a unit of measure by which the IBM SaaS can be obtained. A terabyte is 2 to the 40th power bytes. Sufficient entitlements must be obtained to cover the total number of terabytes processed by the IBM SaaS during the measurement period specified in customer's PoE or Transaction Document.
