Overview

Today IBM® is expanding the upgrade paths available to clients by announcing that the IBM zEC12 (MT 2827) and IBM z13® (MT 2964) servers with a water-cooled feature are now eligible to be upgraded to an IBM z14™ (MT 3906) radiator-cooled (air-cooled) machine. Previously there were no upgrade paths that allowed a water-cooled machine to be upgraded to an air-cooled machine.

Water-cooled features for zEC12 include #1099, #1100, #1101, #1102, and #1145. Water-cooled features for z13® include #1038, #1039, #1040, #1041, and #1042.
