Description

Top rule

IBM Developer for z/OS , V14.2.1 delivers new automated unit testing capabilities for CICS Db2 programs. The new features enable interception of EXEC CICS and EXEC SQL application calls under CICS to enable capture of data during a live run, which in turn can be used as the basis for creating more unit tests. This also enables users to run their unit tests for CICS programs as a batch job. With this comprehensive record and playback capability, IBM Developer for z/OS , V14.2.1 enables users to stub out CICS Db2 calls and CICS calls for COBOL programs, achieving isolation in their automated unit testing activities.

Automated unit testing capabilities for COBOL and PL/I programs include the following new features:

  • Generation of tests for CICS Db2 programs
  • Full stubbing of CICS Db2 calls to achieve environment independence during test execution
  • Data recording capability for CICS Db2 COBOL programs and batch programs to help get started with an initial set of data for testing a single program
  • Ability to export test results in XML and PDF format

The above new features are delivered along with the following existing features:

  • Automated assertions and pass/fail checks
  • Ability to store tests in a modern SCM along with the programs they test
  • Ability to invoke the tests from IBM Developer for z/OS or as part of a CI/CD pipeline
  • Stubbing and verification of VSAM and sequential files in batch testing, including creating of file stubs by importing from Notepad, spreadsheets, or an existing sequential file
  • Ability to export test results in JUnit or SonarQube format
  • Ability to include code coverage with the test execution and export the results to IBM Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence
  • Support for negative testing
  • Support for debugging the tests

Accessibility by people with disabilities

Accessibility Compliance Reports (previously known as a VPAT) containing details on accessibility compliance to standards, including the Worldwide Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, European Standard EN 301 349, and US Section 508, can be found on the IBM Accessibility Conformance Report Request website.

Statement of good security practices

Top rule

IT system security involves protecting systems and information through intrusion prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered, destroyed, or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a regulatory compliant, comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective.

Important: IBM does not warrant that any systems, products, or services are immune from, or will make your enterprise immune from, the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
