VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) 5.5 is now available on a USB memory key. With the IBM USB Memory Key for VMware ESXi 5.5 you have the flexibility, security, and reliability required for a dynamic, automated data center.
This update helps you:
- Reduce server deployment time with built-in virtualization ready for immediate use
- Ease implementation and run with minimal server configuration
- Step through the deployment process with a provided menu-driven startup guide designed for ease of use
- Achieve infrastructure reliability while reducing security exposure

The VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) with IBM Customization provides a 60-day evaluation license to allow full use of ESXi and vCenter operations. You must license your vSphere environment before its 60-day evaluation period expires. After the 60-day evaluation period expires, you are no longer able to perform some operations in vCenter Server and ESXi. If you want to continue to have full use of ESXi and vCenter Server operations, you must acquire a license.
Without a license, you are able to perform some operations, but you cannot power on or reset your virtual machines. All hosts are disconnected from the vCenter Server system if the evaluation period expires before you assign a license to the vCenter Server system. Any single ESXi host is disconnected from the vCenter Server system if the ESX/ESXi evaluation period expires before you assign a license to the host.
Limitations
