And optimization of the system environment provides efficient management of enterprise application workloads upon deployment.

Preset pattern sizes, optimized for different workloads, ensure all system variables are ready to go. These preset sizes are designed for performance optimization and provide the built-in expertise needed to avoid the guesswork and time-consuming task of initial and ongoing system tuning.

With a pre-integrated, pre-configured, and pre-optimized ECM solution, you are up and running in hours, not days or weeks. The result is greatly accelerated time to value.

Ease of use

Ease-of-use features reduce system complexity and overhead. By harnessing the appliance-like attributes of PureApplication Systems with the enterprise scalability of IBM ECM, the ability to deploy and manage a robust ECM platform solution has never been easier.

Fully assembled IBM hardware and pre-integrated IBM software takes all the errors and guessing out of deploying a full ECM production environment simply and easily.

The solution environment is readily re-creatable during the development, test, and production phases of the project. There is no guesswork or difficulty in readily recreating the deployment when needed.

A single point of control for all administration functions is also provided. System monitoring, fix application, and system updates are all easily accessible and controlled from the administration console.

By leveraging the preset pattern sizes, the built-in expertise and integration by design takes the difficulty out of initial deployment settings and in follow-on performance optimization.

Cost savings

The cost savings experienced with PureApplication Systems patterns are now available for ECM solutions as well. Avoidance of costly service engagements for deployment and increased follow-on productivity result in greatly reduced total ownership cost (TOC).

Cost savings are realized in multiple areas of the ECM system, especially when it comes to labor intensive activities. Solution areas experiencing significant cost savings include:

  • Deployment management: Hardware setup, software installation, and system deployment are pre-configured and ready to go. Preset pattern sizes are optimized for different size installations. The result is an automated, intelligent deployment of the ECM solution environment.
  • Incident and capacity management: Monitoring and isolation of incidents are automated and include follow-on one-step fix application, all from a single administrative console. Capacity monitoring with IBM Tivoli License Management Tool (ITLM) and follow- on scaling to address any capacity issue are also provided.
  • Asset management: Hardware comes pre-configured and pre-optimized as a single solution, removing the need to mix and match hardware from multiple, disparate sources.
  • Change management: Discovery, license management, and fix application for all products in the solution are easily managed and controlled. Standardization of software images, visibility into system component relationships, and a centralized coordination of changes is provided.

IBM Content Foundation Pattern V5.2 is a fully pre-integrated, pre- configured, and pre-optimized ECM solution containing preset sizes, intelligently designed to deploy and manage IBM Content Foundation in the PureApplication System environment. IBM Content Foundation Pattern V5.2 accelerates time to value, maximizes ease of use, and lowers both initial deployment and ongoing operational costs.

Quicker deployment and faster follow-on use accelerate time to value, which is maximized by use of the included preset pattern sizes. The solution's pre- integration and pre-optimization of hardware and software is tailored for efficient processing of enterprise workloads. And ongoing reductions in IT and service costs for administration, maintenance, and updates are evident via system resource efficiencies and a simplified, single point of system management.

IBM FileNet Content Manager, IBM Content Foundation, and IBM Case Foundation products offer enhancements to their licensing to broaden their applicability to both clients and IBM Business Partners.

External Population Resource Value Unit (XPOP RVU) is a more cost effective way to license external populations greater than 100,000 eligible participants.

The resources for the purpose of RVU calculation are Eligible Participants. Each individual or entity eligible to participate in any service delivery program managed or tracked by the program is an Eligible Participant. Licensee must obtain sufficient entitlements to cover all Eligible Participants.

Existing customers with External User Value Unit (XUVU) licenses will be automatically migrated to External Population Resource Value Unit (XPOP RVU) licenses at Subscription and Support renewal, reinstatement, or new license purchase.

Content Foundation

Content Foundation is now available with XPOP RVU licensing. Designed to help reduce deployment costs, the XPOP RVU licensing replaces the XUVU licensing previously offered.

  • Add-On for Content Manager Enterprise Edition includes the following offerings:
    • Content Foundation Add-On for Content Manager Enterprise Edition is changed to Content Foundation Add-On for Content Manager Enterprise Edition Authorized.
    • Content Foundation Add-On for Content Manager Enterprise Edition Employee is an additional chargeable component available with Content Foundation.
    • Content Foundation Add-On for Content Manager Enterprise Edition External Population is an additional chargeable component available with Content Foundation.

IBM Worklight Studio, an Eclipse-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE), enables developers to perform all coding, testing, and integration tasks for web, hybrid, or native mobile applications. Included in the bundle is a sample code project that uses Content Navigator's Mobile Toolkit to bring your content to your mobile device.

To help reduce your deployment costs, Eligible Participant RVU licensing is added to IBM Case Foundation V5.2, IBM Case Manager V5.2, IBM Content Foundation V5.2, IBM Enterprise Records V5.1.2, IBM FileNet Content Manager V5.2, and IBM Production Imaging Edition V5.2. Eligible Participant RVU licensing replaces External Population RVU licensing. An additional "Cumulative Entitlements" clause was also added to the licensing.
