Description

Top rule

The functions in Version 13.0 are derived from an iterative design thinking collaboration. The requirements represent the real and relevant capabilities of Host Access for the entire spectrum that range from power users to less frequent users who require simple flexibility for their needs to access their information. The designed capability is based off of the existing paradigm of HACP V12, to bring an effective modernization outcome in the form of HACP Extended Edition (EE).

  • With HACP 13.0, a design thinking principle is adopted to include users, starting from "roadmap" discussions through the development cycle. This results in a zero footprint emulator client that is a Java-less (or no Java) emulator client, named HACP EE.
  • HACP EE is a platform-independent emulator solution that redefines the IBM Z and IBM i emulation by using the strong rendering capabilities of HTML5.
  • All that is needed is one of the browsers (Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, or Edge) to start working on this Java-free emulator.
  • Version 14 removes the worry about reconfiguring any of the session definitions. Instead, just point the HACP EE to the existing HOD server.
  • HACP EE reads all session definitions and presents them to the user based on the deployment model (HTML or config-servlet) of HOD.
  • The design thinking approach helps put the HACP focus on ergonomics.
  • Session rendering on the wide screen display is addressed to better use the space available.
  • More interactive and context menus (on mouse right click) is added to PCOMM V13.0.

Statement of good security practices

Top rule

IT system security involves protecting systems and information through intrusion prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered, destroyed, or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a regulatory compliant, comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective.

Important: IBM does not warrant that any systems, products, or services are immune from, or will make your enterprise immune from, the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
