Description

Top rule

DBA on Cloud is designed to provide a simple way to acquire and utilize key cloud services from across the IBM portfolio to digitize all aspects of business operations to scale. Capabilities in this release include:

  • Modeling. IBM Blueworks Live is a cloud-based business process modeling tool that enables clients to discover and model business processes and decisions for their organization. By using a web browser, clients can collaborate with local and distributed teams and access the tool from anywhere.
  • Workflow. IBM Business Automation Workflow on Cloud integrates the capabilities of business process and case management into a single workflow offering on the cloud. It unifies information, process, and users to provide a 360-degree view of work. In addition to process management, workflow uses advanced analytics, business rules, and collaboration to drive more successful, optimized business outcomes.
  • Decisions. IBM Operational Decision Manager on Cloud is a cloud service that helps you capture, automate, and manage rule-based business decisions. It is a business rule automation platform that can be used by technical and nontechnical users. It is designed to enable users to quickly initiate business rule management projects at lower costs by reducing the need for IT assistance and hardware and software acquisitions.
  • Content Management. IBM Business Automation Content Services on Cloud is a feature-rich content platform that meets many use cases, such as document management, content collaboration, lifecycle management, document imaging, and archiving. Content Services on Cloud is powered by IBM FileNet® services and IBM Content Navigator for a modern user experience that is designed to be easy to customize by user roles. This is a flexible cloud service that can be cost-effective for new and existing applications.
  • Capture. IBM Business Automation Content Analyzer on Cloud is designed to be a simple and smart cloud service that can be configured by a business analyst rather than an IT worker. This service enables clients to unlock the data contained within documents that are needed to automate their business.

This update of DBA on Cloud delivers the following new features and capabilities:

  • Business Automation Studio. A development environment for the digital automation platform that can help accelerate digital transformation. Business Automation Studio is the place where users of the automation platform can author low-code applications.
  • Business Automation Services. Represents automations that have been published so that clients can call and reuse automations in a consistent manner. When published, the automation service becomes discoverable across Business Automation Studio to help you drive productivity and customer experiences.
  • Automation Application Designer. A low-code application builder with which clients can build, modify, and refine business automation-based application user interfaces that can take advantage of the capabilities of the platform through iterative development and playback. The focus of the low-code building experience is on page creation that is designed to provide easy-to-use methods for populating the page with UI views and configuration.
  • Business Automation Insights. A component that provides visual insights to business users from data events from automation components and applications. It feeds a unified data lake with business automation data that can be used to infuse artificial intelligence in the IBM Automation Platform for Digital Business. The events are aggregated into business-relevant metrics and displayed in prebuilt or user-configured dashboards to provide near real-time visibility into business operations. In addition to the general features described above, this component includes an Express® and Enterprise configuration.
  • Business Performance Center. A configurable dashboard designed for ease of creating and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Business Automation Navigator. Provides a place for business users to access their business applications. It is designed to provide easy access to applications and to enable users to navigate between applications. Business Automation Navigator enables administrators to publish applications into custom desktop views for different sets of users.
  • Automation Workstream Services. A component that helps businesses to complete work efficiently and collaborate effectively by enabling them to configure productivity services at runtime without a need for traditional development skills.

DBA on Cloud enhancements

This update of DBA on Cloud delivers the following enhancements:

  • An updated role-based user experience and login page that provides an easier navigation of different tools, applications, and administration consoles based on the role of the user.
  • The cloud service leverages automation capabilities from Cloud Pak for Automation for a consistent automation experience, as well as the Red Hat® OpenShift® open source container orchestration platform with Kubernetes infrastructure to deliver a robust and reliable service.
  • Improved documentation with a single IBM Knowledge Center for all capabilities and guided help.

FlexPoints

The capabilities within the offering are each valued at a given number of FlexPoints. Clients purchase FlexPoints in packs of 1000 and allocate these points across the capabilities within the offering according to their needs. Because clients' needs can change over time, FlexPoints enable a flexible consumption model for all the capabilities within the offering. Clients can adjust their deployment of FlexPoints among the capabilities in the offering at any time within the bounds of their overall FlexPoint entitlement, and can buy additional FlexPoints, as needed, to scale solutions. This enables organizations to control specific capabilities today, and other capabilities tomorrow, as they demand additional or different applications. The FlexPoints, which are required for each capability, include minimums that are documented in the IBM Digital Business Automation on Cloud Service Description.

For more information about previously announced capabilities of the programs within this offering, see the Software Announcements in the Reference information section.

Accessibility by people with disabilities

Accessibility Compliance Reports (previously known as a VPAT) containing details on accessibility compliance to standards, including the Worldwide Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, European Standard EN 301 349, and US Section 508, can be found on the IBM Accessibility Conformance Report Request website.

Statement of good security practices

Top rule

IT system security involves protecting systems and information through intrusion prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered, destroyed, or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a regulatory compliant, comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective.

Important: IBM does not warrant that any systems, products, or services are immune from, or will make your enterprise immune from, the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
