IBM® PowerVC V1.4.1 is updated to transform the next generation of IBM POWER9™ technology-based enterprise servers into fully-functional private cloud platforms by adding a sophisticated cloud management interface and intuitive self-service experience for cloud users. PowerVC V1.4.1 includes the following new capabilities:

  • Support for POWER9 servers running the PowerVM® hypervisor
  • Streamlined deployment for SAP HANA workloads
  • Integration with IBM Cloud Private
  • Built-in NPS® survey (Web form) launch
  • Support for OpenStack "Queens" release
  • Improvements to PowerVC Manager for Software-Defined Infrastructure (simplified add and remove disk capability)

IBM PowerHA® System Mirror, V7.2.2 for Linux® introduces the ability to order the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) for SAP offering in AAS.

PowerVC benefits include optimized resource utilization, reduced operating costs, and a more agile environment for deploying essential IBM AIX®, IBM i, and Linux applications that benefit from the leading performance, security, and scalability of IBM Power® platforms.

PowerVC is available in three editions:

  • IBM PowerVC Standard Edition (for virtualization management)
  • IBM Cloud PowerVC Manager (for virtualization and private cloud management)
  • IBM Cloud PowerVC Manager for Software-Defined Infrastructure (SDI)

IBM PowerHA SystemMirror® for Linux, the Power Systems strategic solution for high availability, protects against most outage types, including software updates. It is the solution for mission-critical environments.

PowerHA System Mirror for Linux, V7.2.2 introduces the ability to order the SLES for SAP offering in AAS. The IBM representative is responsible for making sure the client downloads SLES 12 Little Endian (LE) because that is the only level supported.

IBM PowerVC V1.4.1 supports any IBM system that includes an IBM POWER7®, IBM POWER7 +, IBM POWER8®, or IBM POWER9 processor.

Cloud PowerVC Manager is included as a default component in orders for POWER9 technology-based (S and H) server models.

PowerHA SystemMirror V7.2.2 for Linux supports:

  • POWER8 technology-based servers, or later
  • SLES 12 (LE mode)
  • Linux LPARs on the IBM PowerVM platform
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Little Endian (LE) 7.2 and 7.3
  • SLES for SAP (SLES 12 LE)
