With the versatility of Watson Workspace Essentials, collaboration is easy and intuitive, and enables you and your teams to stay focused and productive by leveraging cognitive capabilities powered by IBM Watson.

  • Watson Workspace Essentials is available for Mac, Windows™, iOS, Android, and web browsers, enabling you to stay connected across devices.
  • Creating collaborative spaces for your teams is accomplished in just a few steps, including adding members from within your organization or even external guests.
  • Direct messaging allows you to send private messages to one other person.
  • Files, images, and other content can be easily uploaded and shared.
  • Conversation history is searchable, enabling you to quickly find important messages or files across all of your teams' conversations.
  • The Moments feature is powered by IBM Watson and brings a cognitive layer to team-based collaboration, enabling you to quickly summarize and filter what is relevant to you and take action.

Watson Workspace Essentials differentiates by having cognitive at its core

IBM Watson Workspace Essentials has cognitive built-in its core. The cognitive APIs are part of the foundation, surfacing key components of the conversation, including actions and intents. Additionally, moments are smart summaries of the things that happened in your space. Think of moments as an easy way to view the conversation history so you can focus on what matters to you.

Moments is a differentiating feature, leveraging Watson to recognize the natural breaks in the conversation and converting them to individual moments. Watson uses natural language processing to understand your team's conversation to identify and extract the main keywords. It pulls out the actions and questions in your conversation and highlights these as part of the conversation. Watson also identifies the context of the conversations in the third-party integrations.

Watson Workspace Essentials can also be trained on custom cognitive actions for an industry or business process.

Watson Workspace Essentials brings the value of cognitive collaboration to different lines of business in your organization

Watson Workspace Essentials keeps business teams throughout your organization connected, communicating frequently, and aligned. Some examples:

  • Sales teams. Watson Workspace Essentials helps sales teams that are working together to help identify, progress, and close opportunities. Teams can create spaces to improve communication and transparency between sales, marketing, product development, and support, as well as converse in real time with external clients and partners. This means all important materials that teams share are in one central location, enabling users to easily find details from previous conversations, deals, and decisions using search.
  • Developers and engineers. Watson Workspace Essentials streamlines the process, making it easy for developers and engineers to collaborate seamlessly across time zones and around the world. Teams can create spaces to facilitate scrums and swats; having access to their communication across design, ops, and product available on all their devices; build their own custom integrations to track bug notifications, change requests, or system outages; and easily get a status on activity that's transpired using the moments feature.
  • Project managers. Watson Workspace Essentials helps project managers efficiently run their projects without requiring shortcuts. Teams can create spaces to share project updates, files, URLs, resources, and deliverables, and get feedback in real time. Team members can communicate seamlessly so that they stay current with projects, as well as related upcoming events. Teams can even create custom integrations to push updates from their favorite project management tool into Watson Workspace and vice versa.
  • Executives. Watson Workspace Essentials helps executives stay engaged with the key events and projects that they oversee. It enables executives to stay focused on what matters, make decisions, and guide the people that count on them. An executive can quickly assemble team spaces to deliver business outcomes and stay connected with employees regardless of location. Watson Workspace Essentials brings easy management collaboration capabilities so that busy executives stay current with the moments feature, where they can quickly jump back into project conversations to provide feedback and guidance without scheduling more meetings.
