Application Note
The 750GX and 750FX microprocessors each contain separate 32-Kbyte, eight-way set associative instruction and data caches to allow the execution units and registers rapid access to instructions and data. Each processor also contains a separate unified L2 cache. In order to use the caches efficiently, system software must properly initialize, configure, and when appropriate flush and disable one or more of the caches. This application note describes the implementation of the different caches in the processors, and provides sample code to perform specific operations on one or more of them.
