If you experience difficulties viewing an IBM Webcast presentation, please ensure your system meets the necessary software requirements outlined on the IBM Webcasts system requirements page. Download links to the most recent versions of the required software are provided below. Please note that the web browser and media player currently utilized by IBM Webcasts is non-IBM software, and as such, IBM does not guarantee the function or expected performance of this software.
Web browser downloads
There are minimum Web browser requirements for the successful viewing of a Webcast. If you are experiencing difficulties viewing or listening to a Webcast, make sure that you have the correct version and that the browser is installed and configured properly.
- Internet Explorer: Version 4.0 or higher required, version 6.0 or higher recommended
- Firefox: Version 1.0 or higher required, version 2.0 or higher recommended.
Note: Firefox versions 3.0.x and 1.5.x currently do not have plugins for full support of Windows Media Player features. If you choose to use one of these versions of Firefox, you can use the RealPlayer for viewing IBM webcasts with full functionality.
Note: After upgrading or installing a new version of your browser, if the audio/video player does not load or display properly, you may be required to reinstall your media player. See the IBM webcast troubleshooting page for more information.
Streaming media player downloads
There are minimum streaming media player requirements for the successful playing of a Webcast. If you are experiencing difficulties viewing or listening to a Webcast, make sure that you have the correct version number and that the player is properly installed.
- Windows Media Player: Version 6.4 or higher required, version 9.0 or higher recommended
Note: Windows Media Player version 9.0 and higher uses a captioning method that is not currently support by the IBM webcast site. If you require captioning service for Windows Media Player do not upgrade past version 8.x. See the Windows Media Player troubleshooting page for more information.
- RealPlayer: Version G2 or higher required, version 9.0 or higher recommended.
Note: Some issues exist with recent versions of RealPlayer connecting through a firewall or when used in combination with Firefox 3. See the RealPlayer troubleshooting page for more information.
