This document provides the information necessary to enable the development of IBM Tivoli Network Manager ITNM Collectors. Collectors are the solution to the problem of how to import data from an external data source into ITNM at a level equivalent to the standard SNMP based agents. The Collector system presents a clearly defined XML interface into ITNM which allows integrations without requiring changes to the core ITNM product.

With the acquisition of Micromuse® in 2006, Tivoli® began offering a new network management product that will eventually replace Tivoli NetView®.
