This readme file provides information about how to download and install IBM® InfoSphere® Streams Version 3.1.0.8 (Version 3.1, Fix Pack 8). InfoSphere Streams fix packs include a complete version of the product. When you install the Version 3.1.0.8 fix pack, the installation procedure installs a version of the product that contains all Version 3.1 fixes. If you are running InfoSphere Streams on RHEL or CentOS and you want to upgrade the operating system from Version 5 to Version 6, see Migration considerations and restrictions for RHEL and CentOS operating systems.
InfoSphere Streams fix packs include a complete version of the product. You can use the fix pack to upgrade InfoSphere Streams Version 3.0 (all releases) to Version 3.1.0.8. You can also use the fix pack to install InfoSphere Streams for the first time on the system or to install it with a different installation owner than the previous installation.
Prior to installation: Perform all of the appropriate preparatory tasks, as described in the Planning roadmap. If you are performing a new InfoSphere Streams installation, there is also a Preinstallation roadmap.

Uninstalling if necessary: You cannot uninstall a fix pack. You must uninstall the full InfoSphere Streams product. For more information, see Uninstalling InfoSphere Streams.
