Connect to IBM i: Consoles
Use 5250 Console or Hardware Management Console (HMC) as system consoles to access and administer an IBM® i environment. 5250 Console is available with the IBM i Access Client Solutions licensed program. Hardware Management Console is available on some models.

- Use your PC to access and control the console and Virtual Control Panel locally and remotely.
- Hardware Management Console
- The HMC supports configuration and management of some IBM systems. Many functions are supported: manage logical partitions; manage Capacity on Demand; power systems on and off; delete and report changes in hardware; and more.
