Recovering TCP configuration information

TCP/IP configuration information consists of a number of different physical files, logical files, validation lists, stream files, and environment variables. Whenever library QUSRSYS is saved with the Save Library (SAVLIB) or Save Changed Objects (SAVCHGOBJ) functions, the current TCP/IP configuration information is retrieved and saved.

The TCP configuration information that is saved is the same as that retrieved by the Retrieve TCP/IP Information (RTVTCPINF) function.

If a system needs to be reloaded from distribution media, the TCP configuration information can be updated by restoring the user information and then running UPDTCPINF LIB(QUSRSYS).
Note: The TCP/IP configuration information update should be performed after you have installed IBM® TCP/IP Connectivity Utilities for i (5770-TC1).

If a system needs to be reloaded from distribution media and you do not have a current save of your QUSRSYS library, you need to reconstruct TCP configuration information.
