What's new for IBM i 7.2

In IBM® i 7.2, Distributed Relational Database Architecture™ (DRDA) support has been extended to include support for the following functions:
  • QDDMDRDASERVER server authentication entry special value
  • Simplified DDM and DRDA authentication entry management using group profiles
  • DRDA explicit server name priority when using group profile server authentication entries
  • QIBM_DB_DDMDRDA function usage ID alternative to DRDA/DDM user exit programs for restricting access
  • Conjoined Mutual Authentication
  • RDB alias can be specified explicitly in three-part SQL statements

What's new as of April 2019

  • SQL Package creation will be allowed if profile of *PGM or *SRVPGM is not on the application server. The package will be owned by the connecting user profile.
