Verify Service Configuration (VFYSRVCFG)

The Verify Service Configuration (VFYSRVCFG) command verifies the connection to the selected IBM service.

Communications will be started for the selected service using the existing service configuration on the system. After the service configuration has been verified, communications will be ended.

Service (SERVICE)

Specifies the service that will be verified.

This is a required parameter.

*ECS
The Electronic Customer Support (ECS) and Electronic Service Agent (ESA) problem reporting connections will be verified.
*FIXREP
The Fix Repository connection will be verified.
*PRBRPT
The Problem Reporting connection will be verified.
*SPCFG
The service provider configuration file connection will be verified.
*SRVAGT
The Electronic Service Agent service information transmission connection will be verified.

Specify a case sensitive IBM service destination to verify connectivity with.

Verify option (VFYOPT)

Specifies the verification option for a service.

*FIRST
The command will report verification information for the first successful connection to a service.
*ALL
The command will report verification information for all attempted connections to a service.

Examples

Example 1: Verify the Electronic Customer Support Service Configuration

VFYSRVCFG   SERVICE(*ECS)

This command will verify that the service configuration used by Electronic Customer Support (ECS) and the problem reporting function of Electronic Service Agent can connect to IBM. Connectivity information from the first successful connection will be displayed.

Example 2: Verify the Electronic Service Agent Service Configuration

VFYSRVCFG   SERVICE(*SRVAGT)  VFYOPT(*ALL)

This command will verify that the service configuration used by the service information transmission function of Electronic Service Agent can connect to IBM. Connectivity information from all attempted connections will be displayed.
