Checking optical volume
You can use the Check Optical Volume (CHKOPTVOL) command to validate the integrity of the directories and files on a volume.
You can use the CHKOPTVOL command to verify that all files can be read. The command prints a list of damaged files if any. In addition, depending on the value of the OUTPUT parameter, the command can display a count of damaged and undamaged files.
Enter information for the following fields on the Check Optical Volume display:
- Volume identifier
- Optical device: Required only if the Volume identifier parameter is *MOUNTED
Note: The CHKOPTVOL command applies to the following volumes:
- Volumes in directly attached optical media libraries
- Volumes in CD-ROM and DVD devices
- Volumes in virtual optical devices
