Adding media

Before you can perform save operations using Backup, Recovery, and Media Service (BRMS), you need to add media to the BRMS inventory and initialize it.

You can use the Add media wizard to add media to the BRMS inventory. To access the wizard in System i® Navigator or IBM® Systems Director, follow these steps:

  1. If using System i Navigator expand Backup, Recovery, and Media Services > Media. If using IBM Systems Director select Backup, Recovery, and Media Services.
  2. Select Volumes > Add action item.
  3. Follow the wizard's instructions to add the media to BRMS.
