BRMS Advanced Functions Feature

The BRMS Advanced Functions feature provides many more advanced features on top of the standard BRMS product. The advanced feature can provide you with the following functions:

• HSM (Hierarchical storage management)

  This feature includes archive, dynamic retrieval and automatic auxiliary storage pool (ASP) migration capability.

• Media Library Management

  BRMS becomes the media libraries manager by utilizing our BRMS network. With a few additional steps when setting up your BRMS network, you can ensure that a media library's status for specific volumes are reflected across all the systems in your BRMS network.

• BRMS User Defined System Name

  BRMS network requires unique network attributes, that is, system names. The BRMS User Defined Name allows you to specify your own defined system name that BRMS will use, regardless of the network configuration of the system. This can greatly assist in some HA environments.

• Tape Library Status Tool

  Have you ever wanted to find out who was using a resource in a tape library that you needed? This tool can help by producing a report that displays the users of the resources in a tape library for all systems in a BRMS network that share that library.

• Software Encryption

  This feature provides software encryption capability.

• High Availability Support for I-ASP’s in a BRMS Network
