If you use a single tape device, all of your saves are serial saves. In a serial save, BRMS processes your saves sequentially, one at a time, one after another. However, if you have multiple tape devices, BRMS can perform concurrent and parallel saves. Concurrent and parallel saves can considerably reduce your backup window and streamline your backup operations. Following are brief descriptions of these two types of save operations.
