To start the console monitor, take the following steps from your system console:
BRMS Console Monitor Press F12 to cancel the monitor operation. Press F9 to access command line. Control must return to this display for BRMS activity to be monitored.

The console monitor must be running when the STRBKUBRM is submitted to batch. Once the backup has started, console activities (F9, F12, F3) will be suspended until the backup finishes. Ending the console monitor (for example with sys-req 2) while the backup is running will also end the backup.
