Exempting Volumes from Movement

Occasionally there are times where you might require a volume to be brought back on site for restore purposes or for many other reasons. However, once that volume is brought back on site, and movement has been ran, the volume moves back to the location directed by the move policy associated with it. This feature allows you to exempt the volume from the move policy for a specified amount of time. To exempt a media from movement, take the following steps:

1. Type WRKMEDBRM at a command line and press Enter.
2. Type an 8 (Move) in front of the volume you want to move.
3. The Move Media display allows you to change the Storage Location, Container and also provide a number of days to exempt the volume from movement.
