PCIe3 CAPI (EJ1A/EJ1B) Compression Accelerator Adapter
The PCIe3 Coherent Accelerator Processor Interface (CAPI) Accelerator Adapter (FC EJ1A/EJ1B; CCIN 2CF0) is the same adapter with different feature codes.
The FC EJ1B adapter is a low-profile adapter and FC EJ1A adapter is a full-height adapter. The PCIe3 CAPI Compression Adapter is a PCI Express (PCIe) generation 3 (Gen3), x8 adapter. The adapter can be used in either a x8 or x16 PCIe Gen3 slot in the system.

The adapter is supported on the following Linux distribution:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 Little Endian
Software installation
You can download the latest version of the software packages that are required to use the adapter from the IBM Service and Productivity Tools website.
To use the PCIe3 CAPI Compression Acceleration adapter, install the following software packages:
- Hardware accelerated zlib: genwqe-zlib
- Tools to analyze adapter function and hardware accelerated genwqe_gzip and genwqe_gunzip: genwqe-tools
