Installing the Generic Work Queue Engine

Follow these steps to install and use GenWQE.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. The device driver module for the GenWQE Accelerator adapter for Red Hat Enterprise Linux is provided via the kernel module RPM package (kmod). Download the kmod device driver package for your distribution from the following link, which automatically starts a download.
  2. Install the package using either of the following methods:
    • Use the standard RPM tools by running the following command: rpm -ivh <package>
    • Configure a YUM repository with the following contents:
      [IBM_GenWQE]
      name=IBM GenWQE RHEL
      update disk baseurl=http://ftp.unicamp.br/pub/linuxpatch/genwqe/ppc64/
      gpgcheck=0
      enabled=1
  3. Install The GenWQE tools package (genwqe-tools) from the IBM Linux on Power® Tools Repository (https://www-304.ibm.com/webapp/set2/sas/f/lopdiags/yum.html).

Results

You are ready to use the GenWQE accelerator.
