Configuring access to Netezza databases on Microsoft Windows

If InfoSphere® Information Server runs on the Microsoft Windows operating system, you must create and configure the data source after you installthe Netezza ODBC driver.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. To create the data source:
    1. Do one of the following actions depending on your Operating System:
      • On a 32-bit Windows system, click Start > Control panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC).
      • On a 64-bit Windows system, use Explorer to navigate to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe.
    2. On the System DSN page, click Add.
    3. On the Create New Data Source page, select NetezzaSQL as the driver to set up the data source for, and then click Finish.
  2. To configure the ODBC driver:
    1. On the Netezza ODBC Driver Setup page, specify details about the data source.
    2. In the Server field, specify the host name or the IP address of the Netezza system to which the ODBC driver connects.
    3. To test the connection, specify the username and password, and then click Test Connection.
