Subscribing to exception events in Subscription Manager

Use Subscription Manager to manage notifications for exceptions that are generated by IBM® InfoSphere® Information Server suite tools.

Overview of Subscription Manager
You can subscribe to exception events and specify the action to take when an event is generated.
Subscriptions
A subscription is a request to be notified of a specific type of event.
Applications
When you subscribe to an event type, you can specify an application that is notified when events of this type are generated.
Subscribing to exception events
You can use Subscription Manager to send exception events for data quality rules that occur in IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer and in the Exceptions stage of IBM InfoSphere DataStage® and QualityStage®.
Configuring an email provider
To use Subscription Manager to send email notifications to users, you must specify and configure the email server that is used.
Email notifications
You can customize the content and format of email notifications that you receive from Subscription Manager when events that you subscribe to are generated.
